Wake Up and Smell The Bushes

I am curious at this point as to just how much longer the Bush administration can get away with the “I don’t wanna” or “Because I said so” retorts. When Bush and Cheney testified before the 9/11 commission, they were able to do so in private and WITHOUT having to be under oath! Why this did not raise more eyebrows is puzzling. This administration has literally gotten away with murder (at least for now) and apparently because of the extreme nature of the terrorist acts, Bush, Cheney & Co. have been issued intentional passes.

WHY I ASK, WHY?!

Senator Pat Leahy seems to be mad as hell and not going to take it anymore: “I want testimony under oath. I am sick and tired of getting half-truths on this.” Leahy is actually being pretty generous with his ‘half-truth’ remark, when it’s probably more like slim to none.

One really must hand it to our good President, though. He sure knows how to hitch his rides on sinking ships and when the ship has sailed and sunk, he just finds another one that is sinking slower than the one before. This nonsense with Gonzales is like Rumsfeld all over again; the cabinet member is too pig-headed to do the honorable thing and step down on his own, and he obviously has no respect for the American people he is supposed to be indentured to. Every single time one of these scandals go down, it only further illustrates just how little these people think of the populous they ‘govern’ over. The only problem is that the only ones who see this sorry state of affairs for what it really is are non-Americans. For example, everybody in the civilized world (except us) knew last week that Tim Griffin, the replacement U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, is merely one of Karl Rove’s cronies who likely participated in the suppression of African-American votes in the 2004 election, not to mention countless other unsavory Rove-ish tactics.

I really don’t know what can be said for people who care so little about such important matters transpiring under their very noses. It does not affect them immediately thus they can afford to continue going about their bidness entirely unaware of the dire consequences that await us all when the pipe dreams are over.
