Apparently Time Magazine posted some rather alarming post-Super [Fat] Tuesday results regarding voter turnout, which should make Democrats extraordinarily hopeful; approximately 73% more Dems turned out to vote than did Republicans! Now, as stated previously and repeatedly, it is distinctly possible that a Hillary Clinton nomination would galvanize the GOP and their voters in a similar fashion that the “rock-star” Democratic candidacies have, but based on these numbers – their message of change and hope would likely win out over the purely negative sentiments the GOP thrives upon. Based upon the current delegate numbers, (Clinton – 892, Obama – 716; 2,025 gets the nomination) it seems as though Clinton has a fairly commanding lead, although most in the press are calling the race a dead heat. The other factor to consider, which many pundits already have, is the all-powerful superdelegates. After having written about Clinton’s seemingly closer ties to the establishment than Obama, this could likewise prove to be a crucial element when all is said and done. On yet another flip-side, Hillary is reportedly starting to hurt in the financial department, being forced to borrow some five million dollars.
On the GOP side, I had not even realized that the standings have good old Mike Huckabee (not Mittens Romney) running a distance second to McCain, 156-133! As Dr. Rachel Maddow so brutally put it; Romney seems to be having a hard time getting non-home, non-Mormon and non-small states. As a side note to these wonderfully neo-fascistic candidates, even big, bad Iran has acknowledged in their court system that habeas corpus is a concept that should not be abandoned, regardless of the surrounding circumstances. I am also tickled pink the way New York Philharmonic Conductor, Lorin Maazel, called the US out for being hypocritical in its position denouncing North Korea’s human rights abuses: “People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw bricks, should they? Is [the United States’] reputation all that clean when it comes to prisoners and the way they are treated? Have we set an example that should be emulated all over the world? If we can answer that question honestly, I think we can then stop being judgmental about the errors made by others.” Some hack named Marcus Noland was quick to point out essentially, yeah – but they’re MUCH worse than we are! Maybe Mr. Noland should think about throwing HIS hat into the GOP race!

P.S. I have since learned that Mittens has dropped his proverbial ball of string of an attempt at the Presidency.
