Breaching A Different Kind of Levee

I sincerely hope that these revelations regarding the breach of Senator Obama’s Passport information will shine a brighter light on this administration’s blatant criminal activity and utter disregard for this country’s rule of law.

This particular story touches on numerous controversies that have not garnered nearly enough mainstream media attention. Firstly, there is the subject of the outrageous percentage of government work that is being outsourced to contractors. Just as in Iraq & Afghanistan with Blackwater, Bechtel, KBR, etc. – these contractors pledge their allegiance first and foremost to the corporation and the shareholders for which it stands. It has been repeatedly demonstrated just how unwilling this administration is to conduct any brand of legitimate oversight, so when something occurs like Senator Obama’s private records being hacked – many, many questions arise.

The responses by administration officials are always predictably unconscionable, usually something to the extent of: “I was only recently made aware/I was not aware of this,” “This is an isolated incident,” “I have no idea how this could have happened,” “I do not recall,” "The system worked," etc. In this case, “I will fully acknowledge that this information should have been passed up the line,” said Patrick F. Kennedy, undersecretary of state for management (not the Democratic representative of Rhode Island) - at least he's honest!

The focus should then shift to the ‘justice’ department, which has essentially redefined what justice really means in this country; anything done in the name of the Republican Party is just by default. Therefore, the first question should be – is this yet another case of Republican dirty tricks in an attempt to drag Senator Obama’s past through the mud and ask questions like, “What were you do in Indonesia when you were four? Training to be an Islamic extremist, no doubt!”

The Clinton campaign did not seem overly outraged by such events as they were simultaneously trying to exploit the Jeremiah Wright connection even further by appealing to super-delegates that this makes Obama unelectable.

As of last night, the FBI had not even announced that an investigation would take place! I guess their resources are slightly limited after spending millions and millions of taxpayer dollars to sting Eliot Spitzer. This was a huge breaking news story on MSNBC last night, thus I don’t know if the fact this story broke so late in the day that there is not more coverage in today’s New York Times (very short briefing on page A19). Ironically, it was the Washington Times that first reported on this story, which would be like Der Sturmer reporting on Nazi misdeeds.

There most definitely has got to be some sort of correlation with how the Republican's operate in their political games since according to the Huffington Post article the first Bush team did the same thing to Bill Clinton back in the early 90's.

It's no different than the methods of Nixon except the Republican machine has learned from it's mistakes in covering the smell of their shit.
