As the saying goes, “Those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it.” Thus, I suppose there is no good reason why events should not continue to repeat, considering the executive branch continues to bang its head against the wall of history. “Vice” President Cheney once used the phrase ‘last throes’ to describe the Iraqi insurgency, what – three years ago? I would argue Cheney, Rummy and all those other stooges connected to the Nixon-Reagan-Bush I axis of evil that are the ones in their last throes. This presidency (if you can actually call it that) has all been one last ditch attempt at a large-scale power grab by a group of individuals who feel their best interests are solely in their best interests, certainly not those of the American people. For whatever reason, they have a deeply profound sense of general entitlement and who or whatever gets in the way of that will pay very dearly; doesn’t sound like the mafia or anything, does it?
