This just in: Vice President Dick Cheney believes himself and the Vice Presidential Office to be above the laws of the land! Wait, I guess that's not really anything new but it is quite a whopper that he had declared his office not part of the Executive Branch of the United States’ Government! Pretty amazing what certain [criminal] people will do to avoid oversight, eh?

Thus, I presume that Mr. Cheney would hesitate to agree with one of our founding fathers, James Madison, when he stated in the Federalist Papers (#58):
An elective despotism was not the government we fought for; but one in which the powers of government should be so divided and balanced among the several bodies of magistracy as that no one could transcend their legal limits with being effectually checked and restrained by the others.
Naw, that don’t exactly fit into that wonderful neoconservative ideology that has served this country so gosh darn well over the past six plus years…
