I think to a considerable degree, republicans represent and are people that are so ticked off by the world in general that they do not want anybody except a few chosen few to succeed in basic survival. The idea of everyone, everywhere getting a more or less equal piece of the proverbial pie makes them so sick to their stomachs that they will persecute to no end in order to soothe their indigestion. This primal greed as the conservative antacid is at least one of the instincts that keep people and countries unequal.
But back to the cradle of civilization, indeed a bitterly ironic title considering the powder keg it is…
Mr. Bush actually had the gall to make the claim that a nuclear-armed Iran would risk a potential third world war. I don’t know where to begin on this comment; the most obvious is that this is classical G.O.P. fear mongering at its finest. Next, there is so much audacity on so many levels it makes my head want to spin. I still maintain the simple fact this administration and its pathetic excuses for supporters are so gung-ho about saber-rattling for an attack is more than reason enough for any country to want to defend itself. The retort to that would likely be, “well, we have to prevent them from obtaining nukes!” If this administration and its cronies are so supposedly hell bent on pursuing a ‘diplomatic’ approach to confronting Iran, then why don’t they walk the walk? The answer is obvious, so allow me to proceed with another zinger; this Bush-man lacks entirely too much credibility to make ANY such predictions – if he predicted a sunny day for tomorrow I would undoubtedly carry an umbrella and wear galoshes.
While the drums for war are at present beating even louder in Turkey than there is from the Grand Old oPry, I mean Party, the very same GOP drummers have to be at least mildly ecstatic over the prospect of Turkey essentially invading Iraq (only in this case for legitimate reasons!), as it will either (a) take some of the pressure and weight off their sorry asses and their jingoistic policies for the moment, or (b) bring about/set off a string/chain of events that could very easily devolve into something perhaps resembling the Armageddon they must obviously jerk off to every night.
