Post-election analysis can be a grueling ordeal for those of us who for whatever deranged reason can’t get enough politics. As is most always the case everyone everywhere is sooo goddamn sure as to why what happened happened and they are not at all shy about sharing as much. Maddow has it right in an Occam’s razor sense that if you really get down to it, this is simply what happens to newly elected presidents in their first midterm elections. There is really no need to blow everything out of the waters that constitutes proportion. This triumphalism by the Republicans is patently ridiculous, but I suppose this is tends to be lost on a body politic that is none too concerned with history, or facts, or logic, or tact, or reality, et cetera, etc.
